Sprints & SST

I rolled out late this morning with my wife under beautiful sunny skies, with some wind. She prefers to do her on thing rather than sit on my wheel, so we parted ways as we left the neighborhood. After warming up for about 20 minutes, I did eight 10 sec sprints. I stayed in an easy gear, and spun up to 130+ cadence on most of the sprints. Most of the efforts averaged around 800 watts. After the sprints I rode about a half hour in L2 to fully recover. Then I rode about 50 minutes of tempo/sst at 85% of FTP. I felt pretty good today, which I expected since I only rode an hour or so in L2 the last couple of days. Earlier in the week I did some trainer sprints, one short day of sst, and lifted weights twice.

Looking at your CTL this year you're pretty far ahead of last year. You're only 20tss/d down...what do you think your CTL can get to come april/may? Think you can crack 100?

I don't know if 100 is possible this year, but in the near future I think I can reach 90 with about 6 weeks of building. I'm hovering in the 65 - 70 range right now.

Chris M's advice is simple but probably right on the money. I'm not sure how he arrives at 75 as a magic number for CTL to be considered fit, but what he says about growing CTL as much as possible makes a lot of sense.
